Where I learned to ride a bike
I grew up in Tribecca in NYC just a few blocks from the WTC. I remember almost every weekend my father and I would drive our camper van to a parking garage right along the Hudson River because we had no parking near our house.
We would bring our bikes and bike on the abandoned West Side Highway which was pretty much being used as a long park for locals to sun bathe, play frisbee or just sit and read. This photo was taken in 1980. It is odd to think that the towers are gone but so is the West Side Highway and that bike.
